sebastian zangar from freiburg (.de) calls himself the gardener of small harmonies, in search of maximum beauty in cyclic precision. after his classical piano education he focussed on digital production, and soon he released his first track on the swiss label "shtml audio recordings" alongside artists like apoll and octex. working as sound engineer in various projects, he mainly produces his own tracks in trains, foreign flats and studios. for realaudio.ch the young talented musician...

The basic idea for "unison" is the phenomenon of binaural tones. When the distance between congruence frequencies is changed, pulsations occur. Here, Dutch artist Christian Toonk (vinculated to the Utrecht based collective Umatic among others projects) uses a self build instrument based on sinewave oscillators and feedback loops. The output is rewired to the input and provides a somewhat unpredictable datastream, by means of creating an opponent to interact to as in collaboration....

"In the sound object I listen to, there is always more to be heard." ~ Pierre Schaeffer (1966) ~ "For a growing number of people, the major sound landscape is the sound of the city." ~ Robert Murray Schafer (1979) ~ The Noise And The City was born during the summer of 2003. The roots of the project are to be found in a fascination for urban zones, as places of concentrated architecture, population, exchange and life : exciting and creative spaces. On the other hand, creative...

This first set of free to download, Creative Commons-licensed MP3 releases from our electronica-based net.label, Monotonik ( http://www.monotonik.com ), were originally released from January 1999 to March 2001. They chronicle the period after Monotonik decided to stop releasing .MOD files, and start releasing those new-fangled (at the time!) .MP3s. Some highlights might include Lackluster's languidly beautiful "Bothersome (Mother Mix)", later to feature on his lovely 'Container' album...

thomas jaldemark from jönköping (.se) made a brilliant reflection of the contemporary times, the increasing polarity in worldwide politics, and as one result of it the unnecessary armed-attack of iraq. regardless the misery of the thematics, his dark and clean ambient unfolds warm chords as a sign of hope and is full of variations and details. besides his projects in industrial-music and the track for the realaudio-ambient-compilation, thomas jaldemark already released ambient as...

Micah Wetzel is a fresh new artist with an acoustic style like no other; his influences derive from the likes of Howie Day, Matt Nathanson, and Dave Matthews. Tomorrows Yesterdays, a song about growing up too fast, offers a smooth relaxed mellow acoustic sound. The One, a song about a girl who you know you cant have, but still is running through your head, delivers a smooth emotional acoustic sound. (Ashley Johnson on backup vocals)

Acoustic session edits from 7 hours of ad lib exploring theme inventions and rhythms from many eratic chord and soloing sections of blues and jazz ragging scales to minimal chord pick of Spanish theme. Attempting a slap sound by recording at slower tempo using bass finger techniques and aluminium bridge adding buzzing sounds to the strings. Agressive fingernail sound techniques and some spaced still moments. Some edit spaces added to separate a two hour workout session at half speed recording...

Skyhaze was formed in the middle of 2005 as a means to produce relaxation music for a local Complimentary Therapist (Venus Light Therapies). As the songs debuted on Myspace, interest in the project increased and the decision was made to make Skyhaze a full-time project. Skyhaze consists solely of Steve Cowan (of FearOfHatred and PlaguesFire fame) who is usually found singing and playing guitar in Death and Black Metal projects. The first album to be created was 'Score For An Unwritten Movie' in...

A fresh artist hailing from the British Island is Arrial, whose demo arrived just about 6 weeks ago. His first release for Autoplate consists of three fine classic guitar songs mixed up with sparse, yet playful and effective electronic elements. I got my first spanish guitar at the age of 5. No idea what prompted me to want it but it's been my lifelong companion ever since - even through the years that it spent in its case gathering dust in the corner of an unused room while I fiddled around...

We present to you a perfect soundtrack to spring days with Kyle Dawkins' superb Warpaint ep. Hailing from Georgia, USA, he melds his classical guitar studies, the banjo and his new experimentations into electronic sounds to create this magnificient 13 minutes of what could be described as avant-folk mixed with contemporary-classical and rock. The result is a distinct expression into eclectic, abstract scapes, beautiful sound design and intense acoustic soulfullness. A prequel to his full length...

In September, Summer turns slowly into fall. In December, fall turns slowly into winter. But in between them, in mid-October, Fall becomes Autumn The rain doesnt bring green life to grass or flowers. But covers them with mud. Wind means new heavy grey clouds. Cold temperatures start slowly to appear. No ice but everything is getting darker. With the cycle of life and before being nude and bare, trees are wearing festive colours. Walking in forest when the weather gives us some respite is then...

Feuerbach come both from Genk, Belgium. This is their first release after a song on a Rarefish compilation Tree we fell in love with. But sadly after this beginning the band went on hiatus. That made us so sad that we started to ask them constantly for more songs. During last spring, they finally accepted to come back to life and to work on a few songs for us. It gave them energy, fervor and desire to let the band grow; Feuerbach is now more alive than ever! These are pure indie pop folk...
